William D. (Bill) Jacobsen MHA, FACHE(R), BCC

Bill is a former Healthcare Executive and Consultant now serving as a Board-Certified Executive Coach (BCC). He uses powerful questioning to show other executives how to dig deeper for solutions, both personally and professionally. He is resourceful, tenacious and has the ability to plan strategically yet execute locally.
Bill was Administrator and Chief Executive of Carilion Franklin Memorial Hospital serving Franklin County, Virginia. He also was a member of the senior management team of the Carilion Clinic, based in Roanoke, Virginia. During his tenure, he developed high credibility with community leaders, physicians, peers, staff and regulatory bodies. His hospital had one of the busiest Emergency Rooms in Southwest Virginia with over 22,000 annual visits.
Bill has a B.S. in management engineering and a master’s degree in Health Administration (MHA) from Virginia Commonwealth University’s Medical College of Virginia. In addition, he’s a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives. He’s won numerous awards from organizations such as the Medical College of Virginia, American College of Healthcare Executives, American Hospital Association and Virginia Rural Health Association.
